1967 - Elroy Goto's racing rig and crew

In early 1964, following some success in a BMW 700, Elroy Goto was offered a ride in a Datsun 1500, obtaining sponsorship from VHY, the concessionaire for Nissan in Hawaii. He performed extremely well on the island, taking win after win, progressing through the Datsun 1600 (shown here) as well as the Datsun 2000. Elroy also raced on the mainland, using Jim Kellar's race car, and was fortunate also to drive a Datsun 2000 race car at the Fuji International Speedway in Japan.
