Dave Frellsen's Datsun 710

Dave Frellsen - the 710 years
National Champion B Sedan (1974 and 1975)

DF: "In 1974 I built a 710 Datsun and won the Central Division, and the National Championship CSPRRC with Bob Sharp 0.3 seconds behind in a Datsun 610. I won the CSPRRC again in 1975 with the 710, Bob Sharp again finishing 2nd. The 710 probably did not handle as well as the original 510 due to it's solid rear axle, but had better aerodynamics and was a faster car. The 710 won many races in 1976 and 1977 but did not finish the CSPRRC race for the National Championship. Never a very popular race car, few 710's were built for competition."
