Classic Cars magazine, July 2003 - an unusual line-up
An interesting foursome collected for a road test/photoshoot for Classic Cars magazine on 24 April 2003 at the MG Owners' Club near Cambridge, England. The original plan was to test six cars, but the only NSU Spider in the UK was not running, and a Honda S800 did not show up. That left an MGB, on loan from the MG Owners' Club, a Fiat 1500 Cabriolet (far left), a beautifully restored Renault Caravelle (second left) and a Datsun 2000. The Fiat was not in top condition, but is believed to be the only right hand drive example in existence, converted in the UK when it was originally imported, and sold by the legendary Rolls/Bentley dealership Jack Barclay.
The article, for the July issue of Classic Cars, will probably revolve around the MG (featured on the front cover), and will run to five pages, offering interesting (and more desirable?) alternatives on a similar theme. The Datsun certainly raised eyebrows at the MG Owners Club, and gained some admirers on the day.
