When it comes to large scale diecast cars that I've seen by the hundreds at swap meets at even at the local Costco, I've always thought that between that Mustang, '57 Chevy, and Corvette, wouldn't it be something to find a Datsun Roadster? Imagine being able to open the hood and find a little set of Solex carbs under the hood.

It looks like that dream has come true: AUTOart has announced a 1/18 scale replica which should measure just over 8.5 inches long. It looks to have all the details one could hope for and all the doors, hood, and trunk open to allow detailed investigation. The car is a replica of the Japanese domestic release of the 1967 2000: left hand drive, teardrop side markers, Fairlady badges, clear turn signals in the front, amber turn signals in the rear.

I'll let you know when I find out anything more. They are a little on the expensive side, but way cheaper than a lot of Roadster parts these days.
