Col. George (Left)
was a great friend of Jim 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald (Right).
He was deeply saddened
by Fitzy's death, which ironically occurred in George's
hometown, St Petersburgh.
George was not at the race but he had spoken to Fitzy the
day before his death.
